A creative study exploring how bespoke AI augmentation can allow designers to translate human experiences into meaningful artifacts imbued with personal stories and memories.
MOMENT is the culmination of a deep creative exploration that asked the question - "How can AI fit into the creative world in a way enhance human connection and bring a deeper human meaning into the world around us?". The result was a bespoke human controlled AI coded software that translates like written stories, memories, photograph, audio recordings and videographic human experiences and translates them into bespoke woven pattern that are then turned into physical artifacts by human creatives that are imbued with meaning and form a physical manifestation of the reinterpretted experiences that they are formed of.The Weave patterns are configured algorithmically through AI interpretation to capture a tonality, visual abstraction and emotional essence of the memories and then tuned, tailored and finalised by human creatives before production using traditional weave and knitting processes.

We deeply explored where in the creative process AI could genuinely aid a designer the translation of a human experience into a physical manifestation without creating a disconnect between the stories, photographs and sounds and end result
Moment is about human connection and emotion, at every step of the process we asked "Is AI bringing us more creative control, or taking it away from us". Every time we felt control was being handed to AI without human oversight, we changed our approach.
MOMENT represents, to us, the realisation of a creative process that harnesses AI as an interprettive augment in a way that preserves the connection between human inputs and human output, keeping a throughline of meaning and authenticity from start to finish.
