An internal operations dashboard continually reading our team's workspaces and unlock live project data capture and analysis without manual reporting

Man
DAYDA built an internal dashboard that reads the tools the studio already runs on and turns them into current answers about where time goes and who is over capacity. It replaced a paid forecasting tool and added no new admin for anyone. Cortex joins our timesheet software, the calendars and the project record on a single project code, then keeps that join current with hourly syncs. Division leads open it to see utilization against capacity and a week by week resourcing read for every person. Projects that have drifted from their own numbers flag themselves. Five time zones sit on the clock bar, so every division reads the same figures at the same moment.

(No new rituals)

We worked to the mandate that any system we create does not necessitate new rituals for our teams, no additional steps to logging, nothing new to remember. The system had to be smart, automated and accurate.

(One join key)

Hours, calendars and the project record only become useful once they meet, and they meet on one code per project. We needed to build a convention that worked across our current systems and cortex to unify and accommodate automated data gathering and organisation across apps.

cortex

Cortex is live at v0.14 after fourteen minor releases. The paid forecasting tool is gone, and resourcing now sits next to the hours data it depends on, with a red, amber and green read per person per week and day level splits when a week needs them. An AI recap writes up each division weekly and calls out its own data gaps at the top, so anyone acting on the summary can see what it could not see.

"We ran the studio on spreadsheets and meetings for long enough to know exactly what was missing. Cortex has launched and replaces manual tracking and ingestion of data across teams, clients, projects... it's all done behind the scene, automatically and now it's always up-to-date and accessible for our whole team at any time. It's revolutionised the efficiency of our team's cross-app data handling."
